Chan Chich Lodge is located on Gallon Jug Estate in Northwestern Belize. The property is surrounded by the tri-national Maya Forest (“La Selva Maya”), the largest contiguous forest north of the Amazon basin.
There are several ways to arrive at the property. We can arrange ground transportation or charter flights and prices vary based on the number of guests travelling.
Ground Transfer Rates (1-way)
Begin your vacation with a tour through the Belizean countryside. We offer ground transfer in a Lodge vehicle from the Belize International Airport (BZE) directly to the property. Depending on the time of day you are travelling, the trip will take from 3 to 4 hours.
|Belize International Airport (BZE)||$200||$300||$400|
*Rates are in USD and subject to 12.5% tax.
Pick-up can be arranged from other locations in Belize. Please contact us for more information.
Charter Flights (1-way)
The quickest & most preferred way to get to the property is to fly into the Gallon Jug airstrip. We work with a preferred charter company, Javier’s Flying Service, though we are happy to book a charter with Tropic or Maya Island Air as well. It is a short 30-minute flight from the Belize International Airport, followed by a 15-minute drive to the Lodge.
|Belize International Airport (BZE)||$350||$575|
*Rates are in USD and subject to 12.5% taxes & a Rider Fee of $3.00 per person.
** Please note the following weight restrictions:
Cessna 172: maximum of 550 lbs; Cessna 206: maximum of 800 lbs. (passengers + luggage)
Charters can be quoted for groups of 8 – 12 by request.
While it is possible to drive to Chan Chich, you will be passing through private lands, and therefore permit access must be granted in advance.
Please let us know if you plan to drive a minimum of 7 days prior to your arrival. We will need to know the vehicle model, color, and plate numbers so that we can notify the gate keeper in advance. Please carry a copy of Chan Chich Lodge Confirmation Letter to be shown at the gates either in paper or electronic form.
The car needs to have comprehensive insurance coverage. We also recommend renting a vehicle with 4-wheel drive, especially if you are unfamiliar with the roads or in the event of inclement weather.
