All the Things to do at The Lodge
On-site Tours & Activities
More than 370 species of birds have been recorded at Chan Chich Lodge. It's also home to all five of Belize's wild cats, including a resident population of jaguars that our trail cameras have followed for years, along with tapirs, howler monkeys, and countless smaller creatures that make the rainforest feel alive at any hour.
All on-property excursions are conducted as shared guided tours, allowing guests to explore responsibly while benefiting from expert interpretation. Should you prefer a private tour experience, our team will be happy to assist with arrangements in advance, subject to availability and an additional fee.
On-site tour prices range from $20 per person up to $60 per person, depending on your interests.
The lodge has a daily on-site tour package that provides the best value to our active guests. For $95 per person, per day, you get two driving tours and one walking tour on each day of your trip. This is already included if you purchase the All-In Explorer package.
Our Guides
Every tour at Chan Chich, whether it's a walk, a drive, or a boat trip across the lagoons, is led by one of our naturalist guides. Together they span a wide stretch of experience from 36 years on one end, 10 on the other, and a newcomer just seven months in.
We assign guides based on availability, so we can't promise you a specific one, but we can promise the same thing from all of them, they know this reserve inside and out.
Off-site Tours
Beyond the reserve, we offer off-site excursions into the ancient Maya world: the sacred ATM Cave, Belize's largest ruins at Caracol, and a full-day crossing into Guatemala to see the towering temples of Tikal. Guests looking for something different can also arrange nearby trips for cave tubing, a chocolate-making class, or a visit to a butterfly farm.
Pricing and availability varies for our off-site tours. Please check with the front desk or our reservations team for more details about off-site tours.
